Sarah Burton proved herself a worthy successor to Alexander McQueen with a Resort 2011 collection that successfully seams his dramatic brilliance with her effortless vision. It’s a big shoe to fill, especially with his last collection that the world loved, lapped up and revered but looking at her recently released designs, it was no wonder McQueen kept her beside him for more than a decade.

Ladylike, draping, embellishment, cocktail, drama and red-carpet worthy. Burton infused McQueen’s brand of genius into her first collection. I covet everything from the ladylike dress for work (they are perfect, really!), how perfect are the nude dresses?

I am crossing my fingers that Cate Blanchett will wear one of the dramatic red-carpet gowns; while Tilda Swinton will do justice to the embellished pieces.
