A Romanian “shoe architect”, Mihai Albu, blends math, architecture and art to create his skyscraper heels. Each of these heels are 12 inches (31 centimeters) long, doubling the height of heels most international designers have been flirting around for years.

“He uses French leather and encrusts it with jewels, feathers, mirrors, and taps into Romanian women’s perennial love affair with high heels… In a nation, where the average salary is euro450 ($575) a month, the hand-crafted sandals are selling for up to euro1,200 ($1,525).”

Mihai describes his creations as “constructed chaos”.. anyone dares to take him on?
